Summer is when more people are out and about. Consequently, that means there are way more bad drivers on the road. And I really mean "way more." It seems like every time I go out to drive, someone is making a U-turn from one of the middle lanes or a right turn from the middle lane. Remember that other drivers put their trust in you to make the right decisions on the road and in exchange, you can hopefully put your trust in them to do the same. So this little update is to wish everyone safe travels while on the road. Remember to keep your eyes on the road and not your phones. Happy summer everyone!

Pokémon Go
With Pokémon Go being the newest global phenomenon, it only seems fitting that I remind you to not use your phone while driving. In fact, Pokémon Go now requires you to press a button acknowledging that you're a passenger if you're going above about 15 MPH. It's there for a reason. Even if Mewtwo spawns out of nowhere and you're driving, it's definitely not worth injuring or killing someone. If you're on a Pokémon hunt, be sure to either get a designated driver or a passenger to ensure that your journey to be the very best doesn't ruin the rest of your life.

IFTTT + Automatic
If you're looking for an easy way to notify family members that you've arrived at your destination, just use this simple life hack. What I do to let my parents know I've arrived at school or another place is have my lights in my work room go on and off quickly. How can you do this? You just need an IFTTT (If This Then That) account, an Automatic plug ($99), and a WeMo switch (~$50). Setup all of these devices. Setup the WeMo in a room that is central to your house, but not too important (because you don't want to toggle the lights in an important room). The Automatic should go into your car that you primarily drive. Finally, use this recipe to connect these devices. Customize it to your liking. I hope this helps.

My First Car
About a month ago, my generous grandparents were kind enough to buy me a new car! It's a 2015 Subaru Impreza Sport Limited. It drives very smoothly and is very safe. It has stereoscopic cameras at the top called EyeSight. What does it do? If the car gets too close to an obstacle, it will alert the driver and brake if needed. Pretty cool! It also has all-wheel drive. This is definitely one of the safest cars under $30,000. I definitely recommend it and am glad I have it. Once again, a huge thank you to my grandparents!

Driver's License Get!
Yesterday, I got my driver's license. So yay for that! I hope you enjoyed my "Roadway to my Driver's License." I had a great instructor and supporting parents throughout the experience. In terms of the future, I intend to write when something eventful happens. Unfortunately, this may mean that the weekly schedule is over. All in all, thank you to all my readers, my instructor, my examiner, my English teacher, and my parents! I couldn't have done it without you guys!

Summer Driving
As summer approaches, you'll probably be on the road more often. Be sure to look out for pedestrians at places like the beach and other popular areas. Wear sunglasses if you can. Be careful and stay alert as always. Happy summer!

Automatic Apple Watch App
If you have an Automatic installed in your car, you can use an Apple Watch to quickly locate where you parked your car and how long it has been parked. This is very useful if you are ever lost in a parking lot or if you are monitoring how long you've been parked at a parking meter. Automatic is available from the Apple App Store for free [Direct Link] while the adapter is $99 [Direct Link].
